In Melbourne’s bleak midwinter, a migratory instinct begins to stir among some mammals.
For Kyla Boyd, a healthy adult in peak form, the call was impossible to ignore. 🫡🌍
Packing only the essentials (an enviable summer wardrobe, a husband promoted to hashtaginstagramboyfriend 🙋♂️📸), Kyla travelled an extraordinary distance. Found Europe. Wandered its laneways one tiny espresso at a time. Followed its sun from cathedrals to coastlines. Collected absurdly photogenic memories, and the unmistakable glow of a person who hasn’t heard “Muuuum” in weeks.
But migration loops must close. Daily gelato and midday rosé will eventually disappear behind a flight home. Waiting ahead, if you’re lucky, are little people with little regard for jet lag. And a celebration seven winters in the making.
