ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re seeking an experienced End User Compute (EUC) Systems Engineer to join our team for a critical Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrade project. This is a short-term contract designed to support a large-scale enterprise migration involving multiple sites across our healthcare organisation. As the third engineer in a dedicated team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring a smooth transition ahead of Microsoft’s extended support deadline in October 2026. With a pilot phase planned for February, this is an exciting opportunity to make an immediate impact on a high-priority infrastructure project.

THE ROLE
You’ll be responsible for:
– Application packaging and deployment using SCCM and Intune
– Troubleshooting deployment issues related to permissions (NTFS, share permissions, SharePoint, Group Policy)
– Working autonomously to resolve technical challenges across different regional configurations
– Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors supporting field engineering work
– Supporting the pilot phase and end-to-end migration validation process- Managing application compatibility testing and remediation

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Essential Skills:
– Strong experience with SCCM application packaging and deployment- Proficiency with MSI and PSADT (PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit) packaging tools
– Deep understanding of Windows permissions architecture (NTFS, share permissions, SharePoint, Group Policy)
– Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex technical issues- Experience in predominantly on-premises SCCM environments

Desirable:
– Previous experience in healthcare environments or hospital-sized organisations
– Familiarity with managing applications across multi-region Active Directory configurations
– Understanding of varying security settings and their impact on deployment

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

– Predominantly remote work with flexible office attendance (preference for 3 days per week in office, adjustable based on autonomy)
-Initial onboarding may require approximately one week in the Brisbane office
– No ongoing travel requirements beyond onboarding
– No on-call duties required for contract staff

PROJECT TIMELINE:
– Contract commencing as soon as possible (shorter notice periods strongly preferred)
– Pilot phase targeted for February 2026
– Project completion aligned with 5-month financial year budget
– Designed to complete well ahead of Microsoft’s October 14, 2026 extended support deadline
